入境：第一站旧金山，入关时要填I-94及海关申报表，跟着大队人走，本国居民和外国居民是分开的。第一站入境是要做行李安检的，可拿着行李走了一通，也没人检查。转机，晚点。等待，that’s life.旧金山等了3个小时，LA 转机不到一个小时，坐上了螺旋桨的小飞机，颠簸着到了San Diego.租车：美国的各个机场都有租车公司的免费穿梭巴士，从机场接你到租车点，换车后再送你到机场，非常的方便。拿着公司的租车确认函，很快就办好了租车手续，国内的驾照至少在加州可用，如果不办公证的话，最好自己打份翻译件，让租车公司的工作人员知道如何登记。我租的车是加满油的，还车时油箱空着就行。最好确认好有无或是否需要保险。San Diego总体玩的比较零散，而且大都在晚上，因为白天上班。遗憾的是没去Gaslamp, 头几天为了替公司省钱没租GPS，走错了不少路去了Old town，也在晚上，

根据留学顾问沈建华老师11月3日在对外经贸大学讲座的录音整理——胖胖猫............(寒暄略)致命失误之一：就是非Top30的学校不去。 首先，很对不起，我要给大家泼泼冷水。我从90年回国后开始做MBA留学顾问，10多年了，我咨询过的有好几千人，其中成功赴美读MBA的每年都超过百人，而这些人中能进前30名商学院的不到10个人。很多人申请了4、5年都没有成功，弄得筋疲力尽，事业家庭一个也没丰收。GMAT分数年年涨，从十年前600分都少见，到现在的780、790层出不穷。申请者的工作背景也越来越强。但是根据这两年的资料，每年从中国大陆去Top30的学生不过寥寥400人，平均每所录取不到15名。但全国申请的人一半以上都会把目光盯在Top30的学校上。中国每年的申请人数不好统计，但逐年增长是肯定的。今年保守估计在1万人以上；每人平均申请6所学校。

最近在chasedream上开帖子了， post几天，还是有更多的CDers开始关注我所在的学校了。还有1周就是spring break了， 现在正在半期考试中挣扎。很想感叹一下，读个MBA不容易。英语作为我的第二外语，和其他美国学生比起来还是劣势。尽管我专业八级也过了，口语听力也是impressive level，仍然，在理解和记笔记上很吃亏。30页的case， 老外们读起来肯定比我快。嘿嘿。所以在国内还在为申请mba的xdjms啊，一定一定提高自己的听力！！！ 打字记笔记的速度！！！记得我们在大学本科的时候，我的听力课是最郁闷的，但是4年的痛苦下来，真的有进步。1.多听教学听力录音带，如所学的课本录音带，口语教材录 音带，也可以选听适合或略高于自己水平的有趣的材料。无论是精听或是泛听，最好开始都不要看文字材料。精听应先把录音内容从头至尾听一遍，再把听不懂的地方一遍又一遍地反 复听。
